Hi everyone

Regrettably there is no photograph of this animal and even the description is brief. I felt however that I had to share it with you. This was a reported sighting using our Recording Form.
Location: Between St Just and Zennor
Description: about 50-60 cm long - just over an inch wide - black with turquoise zig zag pattern. stunningly beautiful!

All I can really say is that I am insanely jealous - I would have loved to have seen it!

"That's what it sounded like to me as well. Simply spotted by a young lady who was not "one of us" but was so taken with it she had to try and find out more. I told her it was probably a rather unusual colour phase of an adder.
Her reply was "< style>Thankfully my friend, who I was running the marathon with, caught a glimpse as it disappeared into the grass or I think I would be doubting my own eyes (it was crossing the path in between the two ladies in front of me and myself and I literally nearly ran over it before stepping back a meter and staring in fascination). When asked my favourite part of the race I emphatically replied 'the snake'!

I really do wish I had a photograph as it was truly a very beautiful creature"

However pretty the animal in our eyes it's always nice when a non-herpetologist is so taken with the beauty of one.
